Submitted civil engineering record
An October 2025 mass-grading plan set shows the proposed SBN520 layout, planned disturbance, mapped wetlands and stormwater controls. Current site work and future building construction are tracked separately from what those submitted drawings proposed.
Construction status — July 26, 2026
This status combines a dated Northshore Gen field observation with public project statements. “Under construction” does not mean the data-center buildings are complete or operating.
Northshore Gen reports that mass-grading work is visibly underway as of July 26, 2026. That observation is consistent with the submitted grading plans and Merrillville’s official description of the Hobart campus as currently under construction.
This establishes active site preparation—not completed buildings and not proof that every planned environmental control is performing as designed.
Northshore Gen reports that vertical construction is scheduled for late 2026. A January 2026 update from Hobart’s mayor also tied a city payment to the first building going vertical and described 2026 as the expected construction year.
The late-2026 timing remains a schedule. It can change with permits, site readiness, weather and contractor sequencing.
Indiana state plan-review activity
The public Project Activity record identifies “Hobart Tech Park - ACB” at 6197 Colorado Street. These state entries should not be relabeled as a Hobart building permit or occupancy approval.
Indiana DHS lists the filing under Project 462383. The public activity report establishes the form type and date but does not describe the filing’s substantive contents.
The state activity report records a Standard design release. It is evidence of state plan-review activity—not proof that construction is complete, a local permit has been issued or the building may be occupied.
City stormwater technical review
On October 21, 2025, Wessler Engineering, reviewing on behalf of the City of Hobart, marked the third construction/SWPPP submittal adequate for the minimum City stormwater and IDEM construction- stormwater requirements.
The review covers the Hobart Data Center Campus mass-grading plan at 4751 E. 61st Avenue. It marks plan elements for wetlands, buffers, grading, drainage, dewatering, spill response, stabilization and long-term maintenance as adequate.
The form directs the applicant to submit a Notice of Intent through IDEM’s regulatory portal.
The review says it evaluates the completeness of the construction stormwater plan and does not cover every other local, state or federal permit. It also warns that construction and weather can require changes.
“Adequate plan” does not prove every control has been installed, maintained or independently verified in the field.
