Amazon Sewer Service Agreement: New Hobart Agenda Item

Hobart’s Sanitary District / Stormwater Management Board scheduled an Amazon sewer-service agreement for discussion and consideration.

What changed

The official Hobart Sanitary District / Stormwater Management Board agenda for Tuesday, September 22, 2026 lists “Amazon Sewer Service Agreement: Discussion / Consideration” under the City Engineer section.

The same agenda separately lists a “Hobart Owner, LLC Sewer Service Agreement: Discussion / Consideration.” Hobart Owner, LLC is the entity identified in other City records for the proposed data-center development.

Why it matters

A sewer-service agreement could address wastewater service, connection terms, capacity, infrastructure responsibilities, costs, or timing for the proposed data-center project. The agenda shows that the City has placed the subject before the responsible utility board; it does not show what terms the parties proposed.

What is not yet established

  • The agreement has been approved or signed.
  • How much wastewater capacity is involved.
  • Who will pay for any sewer improvements or connection work.
  • Whether the item changes the project’s construction schedule.
  • Whether service has begun or a permit has been issued.

The agenda is scheduled business, not meeting minutes or proof of final action. The agreement itself, a later board vote, signed minutes, and related engineering or billing records would control those questions.

Related agenda items

The same agenda also lists a regional lift-station program RFQ, a stormwater inventory task order, lift-station generator maintenance, Old Ridge Road culvert improvements, and an update to the stormwater technical standards manual. Those items are related utility and stormwater business, but the agenda does not state that each one is part of the Amazon sewer agreement.
