IURC Cause 46322: Transmission-Studies Objection

A September 14 filing asks for additional studies tied to planned data-center electric service and supporting generation. It is a party request—not an IURC decision.

What the filing asks

The NIPSCO Industrial Group objects to NIPSCO's July 16 transmission-studies submission in Cause No. 46322. It asks the Commission to require additional electric-transmission congestion and gas-transmission studies before the matter moves forward.

The request refers to Amazon's planned 2.4-gigawatt load and the planned 2.6-gigawatt gas-fired generation supporting that service. It asks for the studies within 60 days after an IURC ruling.

What this does not establish

  • It is not an IURC ruling or a new approval decision.
  • It does not prove electric congestion or a gas-pipeline shortfall exists.
  • It does not cancel, delay, or change the June 17 approval on its own.

Where it fits in the record

The June 17 final order remains the controlling record for what the Commission approved. This later filing documents one intervenor's requested relief. Any later IURC order will control whether the requested studies are required.
